History
Beulah Early Learning Center is now open in Decatur, Georgia. The Center will serve infants and toddlers.
In 2007, the Center opened a summer camp that provided 15 classrooms and multiple outdoor play areas.
The Center can serve 116 children, from ages six weeks through preschool. The Center operates year-round from 6:30am to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday, excluding scheduled holidays.
Credentials
The Lead Teachers are certified with credentials that meets/exceeds the requirements of Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. They also maintain their First Aid and CPR certificates. In addition, all teachers have completed the required college level child development classes. Assistant teachers are in process of obtaining the required college units and do not supervise children without a teacher present.
Certification
Beulah Early Learning Center is licensed by Bright From The Start of the state of Georgia. The Center strives towards obtaining accreditation standards.
Organization
The Center is an integral mission of Beulah Urban Outreach, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The board of directors meets monthly to approve policy, review financial statements, and oversee overall operations.
License
Beulah Early Learning Center is subject to regulations by the state of Georgia under Chapters 7, 13, 22 and 23 of Title 31, and under Chapter 5 of Title 49 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated. The center is approved to serve 116 children. License # CCCL-25064.
Goals
Beulah Early Learning Center offers your child a loving learning environment. The program will provide experiences that will assist in developing your child’s potential and positive self-concept, while recognizing individual needs. Beulah Early Learning Center has established goals and objectives as program guidance in the following areas:
Parents
- To support parents in their responsibility as positive role models for their children.
- To help parents feel welcomed and informed as observers and contributors to the program.
- To recognize parents as the primary caregivers of their children; as valuable partners in their child’s education.
Children
- To encourage interactions between children and staff that provides opportunities for each child to develop an understanding of self and others.
- To encourage children to be actively involved in the learning process, to experience a variety of developmentally age-appropriate activities, while pursuing their own interests in the context of life in the community and world.
Staff
- To promote exceptional personal qualities for all personnel.
- To ensure that the program is staffed with qualified adults who understand child development, as well as recognize and provide for each child’s needs.
- To sufficiently staff the program in order to promote the physical, social, spiritual, emotional, and cognitive development of the children.
Health, Safety, and Licensing of Facilities
- To maintain an indoor and outdoor physical environment that fosters optimal growth and development through opportunities for exploration and learning.
- To ensure that the health and safety of children and adults are protected.
- To maintain quality standards and regulation compliance.
Assessment
- To systematically assess the effectiveness of the program in meeting its goals for children, parents, and staff; to ensure appropriate curriculum planning for each child’s growth and wellbeing.
- To strive for and maintain accreditation with the appropriate agency.
Management
- To establish efficient and effective business practices.
- To efficiently and effectively manage the program with full attention to the needs and desires of children, parents, and staff.
